[DRIVE JUMPER SETTINGS WRONG FIXED NOW]
I can ping my ps2 at the IP address: 192.168.1.10
they both use the same gateway and are connected to the same router.
I cant use HDL DUMB to access it though I get the following error: "NO CONNECTION COULD BE MADE BECAUSE THE TARGET MACHINE ACTIVELY REFUSED IT"
Any ideas, I dont have access to install games any other way (disk drive laser is dead)

Maybe it's a silly question, but since you only mention software at the PC end I still have to ask it: Do you realize that you must run a server program on the PS2, to make the connection possible ?

For client v0.8.6 you use v0.8.5, and for client v0.9.0 you need the server from that same v0.9.0 release. But I advise you to stay away from the latter as some releases 0f v0.9.0 were faulty (lacked necessary IRX modules).

of course I am running hdld_srv.elf on the ps2 side.
I think it is the router stopping communication so im getting a crossover cable
