hdloader now freezes

I have a v12 with hd-connect and a Seagate 160Gb HD and booting an HDloader elf from memory card. This drive was used for pc stuff before and therefore upon booting hdloader for the 1st time it asked if I wanted to format, and I said no, and created an +elf partition with the DMS3 format tool then installed games with winhiip on the pc. After that anytime I load hdloader or dms3 tool the ps2 hangs. even after I formatted (almost 3 hours) with winhiip hdl 48bit mode the problem remains. I doubt it's a bad hd-connect install because it asked to format originally. Any suggestions?

Now with the DMS format tool it took about 2 minutes to show "connected hard drive must be formatted". One minute after accepting I get the message "fatal error: failed to retrieve filesystem list"

Put the drive back into the PC and use AEFdisk to do a complete partition delete.... then reinstall into the PSTwo and format with HD Loader 48bit patched.... this should take care of that... if not well sorry I couldn't help
