sorry to be of a bug but I have some problems with this.

I got a 120gb maxtor hd 8mb buffer and its UATA 133, model number L01P120 Diamond Max Plus 9

My ps2 is modded but I have to do the gameshark swap trick. I'm using a copied verison hd loader.

I backed up star ocean disk 1 and 2, eye toy, devil may cry and gran turismo and none of them seem to load, anyone know what it might be, thanks in advance.

    PS2 Model NO: scph-30001R

im not sure if hdloader is compatible with ATA but dont quote me on this...as for star ocean and gran turismo both work fine for me w/o any modes so its gotta be something with your hdd or the method you installed games onto hdd.

IDE and ATA are somewhat interchangeable when talking about drive connections. IDE is the interface (hardware) and ATA is the data transfer standard. 133 is just the speed at which the drive is capable of transmitting data.

    Give us some history.

Did your copy of HDL format your hard drive?
How did you install each game?
Do they show up on the game list?
What is shown as the HDD capacity?

I know that SATA does not work with HDLoader.

But the games what u r talking about working fine. For example your HDLoader is damaged or something else.

    I hope this help

The answer is very, very simple, as I went through the same exact scenario as you.

Copied versions of HD Loader will NOT boot any games. It will format the HDD, install and delete games, but it won't play any.

To play the games, you will need to either use the retail version or you will need to do the memory card exploit. Considering you can do the swap trick, you should look into the memory card exploit.

Btw, your PS2 is version 5 - the same as mine.
