  1. #1 Question hdloader on hhd
    ad_boy_man Guest
Ok maybe a stupid queution or idea but:

    I have a DMS3+ on a v10

I downloaded the hdd-explorer-install iso and opened it using magic iso. In the apps folder i found all the .elf

Is it possible that renaming the hdloader.elf to one of the other .ELFs and replacing it

SO that with intall explorer it installs HDloader.elf so it would that run off the HD???????

I have read somewhere that it is possible to to install ELF's on the HDD itself, but didn't say how he did it. I would also like to know how to do so, it would free a lot memorycard space.

    Interresting idea.

If HDL could be compressed small enough to fit inside the Explorer Installer it could be written to the HDD. Another thing would be if it works at all then.

man too easy. You can compress the HDL and you can also choose to use a minimalistic skin to make it even smaller. The question is why? Can't you just install if afterwards since you have the hdd explorer already running? As far I can recall the Dms HDD explorer installs apps in the boot partiotion so there will be no problem of space.I had a lot of elfs there too.You can also add them manually with execftps and then customizing the DAT file it creates.

whoa, i've been out of this scene for too long The only thing i just wanted to do is freeing as much memory card space as possible (i have an un-modded PS2 with X-port, savebuilder, keylauncher >> HD Loader). What do i have to do, to run the HD Loader from the HDD itself? And HD Explorer installs apps only from CD's

I personally use Keylauncher, to launch HDL from the HD. I created a Apps directory in the ps2menu-k save archive partition, which is ridiculously too big for just mem card backups, so I can keep the partition number to a minimum. Actually all my apps are run directly from that directory (except ps2menu-k which it seems can't be run from the HD from Keylauncher).

Ok, now we are getting somewhere So if i'm correct you used ps2menu-k to put the elfs somewhere on the HDD and Keylauncher boots HD Loader from the HDD and not from the memory card, right?

Riggs_Rx can you lauch and ftp client in ps2?Or ps2Os maybe? If you can you may add the elf files in the boot partition of the HDD.If you have once loaded the DMS hddloader there should be a dat file there.Copy it to the Pc and use the utility I have uploaded to add files without burning Cds and makinkg scripts...Also note that keylauncher and ps2menuK do the job as mentioned above but if you are used to Hdloader and donnot want to create another partition for apps try my method.

I'm not interrested at having various apps on the HDD so my intention is to replace the HDD Explorer itself on the HDD with HDL.
