How old and used is that laser? could be weak enough to not work perfectly with backups.
Precisely why I prefer the Winhiip method. saves the laser for game play rather than using it up on installs.![]()

Same symptoms on two machines.
One had the laser recently replaced.
Happens with originals.
Haven't you got alex feinman's isorecorder powertoy? Makes iso's natively in windows using imapi, into the right click menu of the drive icon. What is the best way is a debatable subject, but I'm sure that this one is the fastest, and the least effort. I silently script this into my automated installations, so its just there by default.
