    sounds like he had a .elf file. you need the .cnf along with a system file.
    I thought saving 15% on my car insurance was good but having my ps2 modded by N£TM£ÇH was way better!

    that isnt hard, but if u want to burn it to a DVD u need a SYSTEM.CNF that refers to a SLUS_XXX_XX or a SLES_XXX_XX.

    Thanks for the reply guys. Yes I do have .cnf on my HDloader Disc. I have 3 files

    1.HDLOADER.ELF
    2.SYSTEM.CNF
    3.DUMMY.BIN

    In SYSTEM.CNF I have

    BOOT2 = cdrom0:\HDLOADER.ELF;1
    VER = 1.0
    VMODE = NTSC

    You can't boot a burn disc in an unmodded PS2 without a swap magic.

    "unmodded" means no chip installed.

    u dont need swap magic though, u can use the ' independence exploit' discovered by mister brown, google for it or do a search on this site, its very old and LOADS of info about it.

    basicly, ur gonna run your own code (hdloader in this case) on your PS2 with a ps1 game.

    u do need to use a trick to run the exploit install cd though, only 1 time, after that u can use the ps2 game to boot hdloader.

    u can also use a friends ' modded' ps2 to copy the files to your memory card or maybe u know some one who already has the exploit so he can use launchelf to copy the files.

    It would be very wise to use Ulaunchelf instead of HDLoader coz u can do many many things with it!

    but i advise to install a matrix infinity :headbanger:
