HDLOADER - DVD to HD, says "too little space", try again, works ?!?!?!
its consistant too. neverending loop.
I have the exact same problem on my v7 no mod with hdadvance. I installed a fresh 120 gig maxtor and I let hdadvance format it. Every time I try to install one of my games it says too little space, but when I try again it works fine. I just lived with the problem since it wasn't really causing any harm except to my sanity. Has anyone else had this "problem"?
yea the same thing happend to me... i copied 1 game over , worked fine, then copied another and got that error... so i rebooted and it worked. i didnt try to try it again after that :-). i havent been copying many...waiting for the new ddr extreme usa to his the streets.
My experience is that HDLoader needs a restart between successive installations, to ensure proper operation. Presumably the programmers missed reinitializing some variables to the same state as on a clean start, causing the next installation to be affected by data from the preceding one.
If you make it a habit to test run each game directly after installation, then this problem never occurs, and as there are other reasons for such tests too, that is definitely the way to solve this.
The other reasons ?
Well, one HUGE reason is that the right time to discover incompatible games is before you have installed the next one. This way there will be no fragmentation of the disk when you remove a game that proved incompatible. There are some other reasons too, but IMO those are not as important as this one.

My copy of hdloader does the same thing as well after installing one game and attempting to install a second game consecutively. I've been doing what dlanor said cuz I wanted to test each of the games I installed anyways. But it's been a problem i've had since i first got hdloader.
Seems like it's more of an HDloader problem than a ps2/disc problem
nope.. it happens to me ALL The time...
just install it and name it jus t "0"
then u can rename it after install ^_^
If you get this problem on every attempt to install, even after a clean start, and with all games, and the only thing that helps is to enter a single character name, then the diagnosis is obvious.
Your copy of HDLoader is damaged, so find a new one.
If you meant something else, then please clarify.

no just some games... like wat the other people said..
a game i sliek 3 gb and u have like 20 gb left yyet it still says... not enough space..
not all but some games give this error (like shrek 2... ) and others..
the only way to install them is to either name it to 0 wen installing then rename it.. or send it thought the network or use hd_dumb ^_^
heh... it's just the solution to that error i geuss >_< i use hdloader... and i just got my hdadvance ^_^ so i'm not shure if it's corrected in hdadance since all my games i install is thought the hdd :-p (much faster! goes liek 27MB a sec )
