Today we decided to release a tiny (14.2KB) custom BOOT.ELF
allowing end-users to run HD Advance directly from their Memory Card!
No longer are unnecessary files such as 'PS2Menu' required on the MC,
and triggering the Independence Exploit with any original PSX disc will
bring up the game selection menu automatically. Lastly, our BOOT.ELF
file auto-checks the PS2 BiOS, and loads the HD Advance ELF from
either BEDATA-SYSTEM, BADATA-SYSTEM, or BIDATA-SYSTEM as
necessary.
Hey guys. I was checking out another PS2 website that had a link to this software. I tested it out, it works great, and there's no need for a modchip (though you still need an original PSX game). I'm not a big fan of HDAdvance, or the particular group that came out with this software, but I've got to admit, booting directly to HDAdvance directly throught the memcard without modchip is a great feature to have. My question is why hasn't this been done already for HDLoader. If the guys at ps2nfo.com and ps2ownz.com (there I said it) can come out with a BOOT.ELF for their software, I'm sure one could be made for HDLoader as well. I'd love to see it come out, and I'm certain others would as well.
If anyone else has seen the package I'm talking about, maybe you could give me some info on the BOOT.ELF file, as compressed or decompressed, hex editing doesn't really reveal anything meaningful to me. Maybe some of you more experienced guys will have more luck with it, 'cause I'd like to take that HDAdvance loader and change it to work with HDLoader. Thanks for the help.
