HDLoader on the brink of death?
HDLoader on the brink of death? –

Hi,
As part of the latest releases, it seems HDL, whatever version, is on the brink of death! I mean, there were 7 games I was very interested in. Since my laser is out, I had been looking forward to tranfering them onto my hdd, but none of them will.
First was EveryBody's Golf, then came Fahrenheit, soon to be followed by SSX On Tour and Socom 3. I expect the same mishappening to Shadow of the Colossus and SoulCalibur. IMHO, only RE4 will work on HDD, since the demo is already fully effective.
Unless someone endeavour to correct this mess (newly patched HDLoader) it seems playing with HDD will be out of the question for a long time ...

It seems that Sony finally got wise to HDloader?

There are people using HDLoader and buying games. If the laser lens did not **** so much and so often that would be nice. Otherwise, what's the use of HDD?

Use the HDD as a PC drive if the compatibility gets worse. Just kidding. Most of the games mentioned could be fixed if there were people knowledgable like crazyc or zero-x. I would love to learn from them since I have a bit of programming experience (only a tiny bit).
I think what needs to be done is to figure out how HDLoader works and maybe we can identify what needs to be changed so that all games can be loaded since games work from the dvd drive all the time.

There is only so much that can be done by guys like Zero-X and CrazyC without the HDLoader source code. You should be bitching at Sjeep to fix this stuff, since he wrote it. Of course, like we've been saying for years, he has no interest in actually advancing the scene, he just wants to make money. Now that he's made his cash off HDLoader, the people who bought it get zero support. We've done more support for HDLoader than the guy who wrote it and the company that sold it.
