First thanks to all for the work around hdloader. It works great !
However I have remarks regarding the patches.
I have a working version of hdloader which boots fine with no disc in tray on my ps2v9. However it *only* works if I patch an untouched and unpacked hdloader.elf *myself by hand* not using hdlpatch-0.3b (nor previous versions). If I use hdlpatch, a disc in the tray is needed.
The patch I use is the following:
but I *only* use the patch at address 0x1488 not the other at 0x111c. The one at 0x1488 makes hdloader boot without disc in tray, but if I use the other one at 0x111c, it does not work anymore. It seems that the option /N of hdlpatch does both patches. But unpatching this /N option at address 0x111c to the original values does not work either.
The only thing I got to work is replacing images. If I use only the option /IS and /IM, then 0x1488 by hand, it works (268KB elf :-) [*edit* no in fact it does not work either. There seems to be default patches silently applied (?)]. If I use any of the hdlpatch option /C, /B or /N, hdloader requires a disc in the tray.
So now my questions:
- Am I alone to have these problems ?
- Are there default patches that are done everytime /C /B /N is used, that would include the 0x111c patch ?
- Is it possible to get the list of all patches for all hdlpatch options ?
- Is there a newer version then hdlpatch-0.3b that I missed ?
Hope this will help in making things even better :-)
