Boot hdloader, then put in a large TOC cd or dvd disc. Wait about 10-15 seconds, then go over to install and the disc will stop spinning. Now swap for your backup, and continue installing it.
...couldve searched the forums...
Oh, forgot to add that it depends on what version of AR you have. If it automatically opens the ps2 drive, then it will not work. (since it defeats the purpose of swapping) But if it stops the disc from spinning, that is when you swap.
ps i have onmodded ps2
will arMaxx do the trick
yeah you should be fine...just try it out.
i have got this method working by using the cracked version of hdloader and using my flip top ps2 an it will allow me to install backup CD games an hombrew apps like emulators. however when i try it with a backed up dvd its gives me the not valid ps2 disc and another question is there a way to make psgen load the games from the hdd and not the cdrom drive?
i think that is you backup your pgencd and have some roms on it that it might work
seanzi, your backedup dvd might not work because it has a high TOC and the dvd disc you are using to swap does not have that high of TOC.
Also, PGen already has hdd supportjust use ps2menu to transfer the roms onto one of your partitions, start up pgen, choose the partition, and it will see the roms.
