First, sorry if my english is too bad

    I have this:

    Ps2 Silver (v9?)
    O2 1.61 installed
    hdloader fully patched 0.6d
    BBA with 120gb hd

I install hdloader in usb pendrive, MC and HDD, and it start perfect in usb, mc and hd, but when select a game to play hand with blank screen.

If a disc is inserted in ps2 tray, then the game selected start perfectly, if no disc inserted games don't work.

    多Why? 多a solution? please.

That is really wierd for O2 mod chip to behave. I have MI with 1.45 firmware and launching my HDLoader, USBAdvance and other elfs from my thumbdrive and I haven't got any single problem. In fact last night I tried a homebrew bios dump application which works well when launching from my thumbdrive.

Have you try going to O2 forum and ask them about your problem? I almost buy the O2 but at last I settle for the MI. Really glad I made this chioce.

Yeah.... I'd say it's a problem with your chip.

If 'fully patched' includes /S, then that is your problem.

    BBA with 120gb hd

This problem is well known, and affects all late PS2 models from v9 and on. It is the /S switch (Stop Disc function) which creates the need for a disc in tray on these PS2 models.

    多Why? 多a solution? please.
Remove the /S switch when patching HDL. It serves no purpose anyway, when booting with empty tray, since there is no disc to be stopped.

    Best regards: dlanor

    Thanks DLANOR,

    I patched /N /C /L (but hd is 120gb) /G /TX (2-SPANISH)

Now, with hdl.elf in USB PENDRIVE start and work perfectly, but hdl.elf in hdd O2_boot directory, don't start hdl, black screen.

Patch with /L if hd is 120gb is correct?

/L doesn't matter if your drive is only 120GB.

Is the ELF packed? It's possible that something in O2 uses the same memory location as the packed data. Changing the address where the packed data is to be loaded might help, if that's the case.

The /L option is for HDD that is bigger than 120Gb, if your hdd is only 120Gb, you don't need to use the /L option i.e for 48bit hdd patch.
