Beta rev are also for internal hdd's![]()
Just so you know, the newest beta revisions of OPL == "Open PS2 Loader" make the OPL program a complete replacement for all the older game loaders except ESR (as OPL does not support physical CDVD discs), and then adds additional networked media support which has never existed in any older game loaders for the PS2.
So HDLoader/HDAdvance are both replaced by OPL using its HDD core,
and USBAdvance/USBExtreme are both replaced by OPL using its USB core,
and for use with storage drives of a networked PC we've OPL using its SMB core.
The latter is what I use mostly nowdays, as it allows a single fileshare folder on my PC to store all the games that I can then use from either one of my three networked PS2 consoles. (currently with 163 game discs installed to that fileshare)
As yet some of the improvements (including IDE HDD support) are restricted to beta releases in source code form, making it a bit hard for non-developers to partake of it all. But the plan is to soon release the new v0.7 stable version, which will change all that.
Once this is released there will be no reason for anyone to use the old game loaders (apart from ESR) anymore, except perhaps for using the HDLoader elf only to install games to IDE HDD from the internal CDVD drive, as such installation methods are not included in the OPL code (as yet).

Maybe, what about games that use usb hardware (like mic's, buzz controllers etc.)?As far as i know and see newest rev doesnt (and opl at all) support that things -you can load singstar but u cant use mic's.
Or if you know something more about 0.7 and this little thing...
I was not aware of that problem, though it does seem logical for cases where you use the USB core of OPL to run the game, as the USB driver it uses would then conflict with the USB driver that the game will attempt to load. It might be possible to fix that eventually, by adapting the OPL USB driver to copy the behaviour of drivers in commercial use, but that will probably be a long time in coming (if ever).
However, I see no reason for USB access to malfunction when using either the HDD core or the SMB core of OPL, since those interfaces have nothing in common with the USB interface needed for the microphone usage of that game.
For such cases OPL should just let the game load what USB drivers it wants and use them as it pleases, without any interference of any kind. I don't have that particular game (not my cup of tea) so I can't verify this myself, but that is how it should work
Have you tested the game with either HDD core or SMB core ?
For OPL HDD core you need to install the game to internal HDD (of fat PS2 or v12/v13 with HD-Combo) just as you would for using the game with HDLoader.
For OPL SMB core you need to install the game similar to how you do it for USBAdvance, but in a PC folder, and then you need to set that folder up as a specific fileshare (see how in the OPL specific threads inside the "HD Homebrew Project" subforum of the Homebrew/Dev forum). With the normal PS2 networking setup in "mc0:/SYS-CONF/IPCONFIG.DAT" you should then be able to access your games on the PC from the OPL menu for network access.
And of course you need a fairly recent beta revision of OPL to have decent results.
Nothing definite can be known about a version not yet released, except by those who are about to make it (and I'm not part of that group).Or if you know something more about 0.7 and this little thing...
But I do know quite a lot about the current beta revision intended to lead there. And I see no reason whatever for any of the device interfaces NOT currently in use for the OPL loader core to malfunction in any game.
So when USB interface is needed by the game, you should use another interface for the OPL loader core, and that in itself should be enough to let the game-specific USB devices work. And if that is not the case at present, then I am sure that it will be fixed to work so in some revision soon to come.
Ensuring that all devices work even when the driver needed does conflict with the driver used by the OPL loader core, as in using those mics while running the game from a USB drive, that is a problem of much greater complexity. So I do not expect that problem to be solved anytime soon.
But there is a simple workaround for it, which is to plug that USB drive into a PC instead, then define the root directory of that 'new' PC drive to be a fileshare with the "PS2SMB" share name expected by OPL, so as to access its games using the SMB core.

I use internal HDD, i will try again tomorrow, but last time when i was running singstar "it didnt let me sing"
