i have 2 WD HDD..both have the same content..as the other one is a backup of the first in case something happens to the hdd.

now the 1st HDD is just working fine..it loads normally when i boot to HDLoader..but when i tried the backup HDD..it loads way way longer than the 1st HDD. So i was thinking, maybe because it hasn't scanned the gamelist. since i haven't plugged it in my ps2 for a very long time..

so i tried reloading HDLoader with the backup HDD..it still boots longer like it still scans for the games. I tried it 3 times with the same result.

Has anyone here encountered this kinda prob? or anyone who can help me out with this before i try to format it and copy the 1st HDD which is gonna take a while..

ignore my signature since i now use 320WD HDDs

im still using my good old 39001 PS2 with DMS 4 Pro

how much longer does it take? I use a 250 gig WD, hadnt used it for a while and when i booted it up yesterday it took a while to load(bout 30 secs-1 minute) which is normal(depending on how many games you have on your hd, i have only 20 gigs left on it). If loading time is excessive(5 minutes or more) then you really have a problem, wouldnt worry too much if loading time is a minute at most.

the 1st HDD only takes about 25 - 35 secs to load the gamelist while the Backup HDD takes a lot longer maybe 1min or more..

are both discs exactly the same?It could be that the second disc has a lower reading speed than your first one. 1 minute isnt so bad though.

odd. What program did you use to format your second HDD to ps2 format? you could try reformatting your second hdd again.

isnt open ps2 loader for external hd's? we are talking about internal hd's here so dunno if that will help.
