HDLD_SVR - IPCONFIG.DAT setup
HDLD_SVR - IPCONFIG.DAT setup –
I've had a look around, but I can't find any info on this, I seem to remember that if you put the ipconfig.dat file in the same location as HDLD_SVR.ELF that it worked, I've just tried it and no, it doesn't..
The problem I have is, my house is networked at the server since on the same internal IP as HDLD, IE 192.168.0.10 So I obviously want to change HDLD to use something different...
Help on a postcard please folks...

If I remember correctly it goes in the sys-conf folder... You can actually find it somwhere on the HDL_dumb site or the release notes if you search carefully.
open HDLD_SVR.ELF with an hex editor then search string "192". From the offset found replace it with your IP requested...
So you don't need any configuration file
I've never gotten any config files to work, ever. Hex editing however, always has.
You could have at least tried to check the official hdl_dump site-
Scroll down to "Installing a game via TCP/IP network" and read Step 1.
File/directory name is case sensitive.
I'd bet anything that your file was actually called IPCONFIG.DAT.TXT

no you put it in SYSCONF Folder or BEDATA if you got a EU Console and BADATA for USA Console
When giving advice, please state the strings needed correctly. None of the three stings you specify above will work at all... (And please understand that I'm not really picking on you here, as lots of other users make the very same mistake)

That then is what you need to change, and this should not be very hard to do, as you already have a way of running homebrew programs. (Since you could test HDLD_SVR.)

I don't think so, but that's not the point. The point is that you most likely will want to use the network with other programs too, eventually, and then you really need the IPCONFIG.DAT file on your memory card.
