Could you use the .PSU functions recently implemented in LaunchELF by dlanor?Originally Posted by KaylaKaze

I don't know what a psu file is and am having trouble finding info on it. The problem is, I'd most likely have to rewrite code to handle PSU files anyway since last time I looked at uLaunchElf code, it wasn't exactly designed for expandability or protability. But it's been awhile since I looked at the code.Originally Posted by rathunter
Besides, my format is simple enough to use. especially since all I have left is rge Extract function, but, if I find out how, I'll add automatic conversion of the formats in the PC based profile manager. So if you know where I can find docs for the psu (or xps for that matter) file formats, left me know.
Edit: Nevermind. I found docs and should be able to add support for them. The thing I like about my format though is it uses compression(uses the zlib "compress" command on the raw file data and mcTables) PSU files look especially bloated.

Hello X and C, there's many people that i'm trying to help that have problem installing game with HDL_0.8b.
Most of the thread is here
Could it be the source code the problem ?
Or the way HDL is patch, depending of the version of there PS2 ?
Hmm, with 0.8b I can even install GT4

ok, this may be a stupid question but how do I select Mode 3 with the .8b hdloader? I see a new menu now when I hit select and I don't understand the whole dma selections...trying to play Madden 07 on .8b
you don't have to touch dma selector unless it's really needed. Just boot your hdl 0.8b, point to your game (madden in your case) press select and set 3rd option (kill hdl after game starts or something) to "yes" and you're set.
So when a game is listed as mode 3 compatible, that means I just select "kill hdl"? Will I ever have to select other "modes" and if so what options would that be?
Mode 1 - is this default?
Mode 2 ??
Mode 3 - kill hdl after game starts
The reason why I got confused is with .8b I don't see the old "mode" menu just different options. I freaking love .8b but since I have been off the scene for a bit I didn't understand all these options. I am also going to setup a friend of mine with .8b, but thinking I should leave the DMA options off...thoughts?
default option is no modes, all "off", mode 3 means "kill hdl after game starts", so when it's said "mode 3" you just set that one option on. Sometimes you'll have to enable mode 1, mode 2 or even all 3. Some other games (minority) require other modes enabled.
