Windows 2k isn't saying anything about it being plugged in, and neither of the programs say they can detect it. I've tried both Slave and Master settings with no success. Any ideas/suggestions?

    BIOS setup.
Check first page of settings, set IDE detects to AUTO.
Your BIOS should see the drive then.
Then Win2k should show it in the devices manager.
And your tools should be able to see it too.

If it is the *official* $ony HDD I think there were a topic somewhere about how to configure master/slave stuff (since there is no sticker). Besides, HDD should be formatted in the Playstation 2 for hdl_dum* to be able to see it.

I was trying it on a friend's computer, since my only Windows computer is a laptop that I can't attach the drive to. It was a 120 GB Maxtor and we had already installed some stuff with HDloader. We were trying to put some Japanese games on his HDD, since I'm having trouble getting in contact with the one person I know with a modded PS2 that could install the Memory Card HDLoader for me.

I'll try the BIOS configuration when I have accss to that computer again.

You could use an external 3,5" USB1.1/USB2.0 HDD box with your laptop.
