hdl_dump black screen?

i have installed about 3 successful games onto my hdd using hdl_dump (gui) and about 5 unsuccessful. the successful ones were a 450 Mb crash bandicoot and backups of turok and Vexx. I tried to install whiplash through the dvd-rom and it stoped prematurely. I then used winiso to make an iso and it copied on the hdd but all i get in hdloader is the Black Screen (of death?) so anyway, i was wondering if anyone else is having problems or may know of a way to solve my problem. i am highly grateful for any suggestions.

also, can someone please help me out, does anyone know how to write an installation script so that i can install progs to the HDD Explorer? thanks again

If the GUI is not working for you, try to use HDL_Dump as it´s supposed to be: Trough the command line.
Maybe you´ll see the reason for the black screen there.
