Hi there, that's just provocation, this hdl_dumb is quiet useful but i don't understand why doesn't it support game extraction? That' s weird. I had to use hdl_dump in command line, that's a shame.
PS:I also have a request for the creators of hdl_dump, i have staright rj45 cable so i cannot network my ps2 to computer cauz i need the crossed one. Is it possible to make the staright one compatible? I know routers can do that so why hdl_dump couldn't?
Routers have automatic wire switching. It's hardware-based and not software based. Sorry, but you could get a short crossed cable and a coupler. Or take your current cable into a computer shop and get them to cut it and make it crossed.
Oh yeahd and WinHiip does support image extraction though you will (I think) need to physically connect your PS2 drive to your computer - not so hard or inconvenient if you get an IDE bay or USB adapter.
I think i have no choice but to use a crossed cable at the shop, it's not expensive but i'm to lazy to go get that cable and i have many straight cables at home.
I know hdl_dumb of lord bogami has the feature but this prog don't detect my harddrive and winhiip detects false partitions. Besides i want to transfer a game to a laptop, that's why i need networking mode.
well, if you know which wires need to be crossed, you could cut them and cross them in the cable and leave the ends intact... it's just messy and you risk shorting them if you're not careful about how you join them together again.
i've done this with some heat shrink and twisting the wires together, black tape would work but wont last long at all if you move the cable around.
Ya i know that i could creat my own crossed cable but i prefer something more reliable.
Thr proper term is a "crossover cable" jus task for one f those. they areusually colored orange , but may not be. If you ask for a crossover cable, they shoudl know what to sell you.
Thank you i said crossed, cauz i used to say "cable croisé" in french, then it's just a rapid translation that seems to be not right.

But anyway just get a new cable and it should work fine.
