HDL prob with Infinity 1.39 and SCPH-50004 (v9)

Well first of all here's the specs

PS2 model: SCPH-50004 (that is V9 right???)
Matrix Infinity Chip firmware 1.39
and a Maxtor 120gb IDE HD

ok i've been searching the threads like a lame mofo and just can't seem to find the answer for my question, maybe i'm blind but lemme try to explain..

I have installed Infinity Manager and HDL on the MC so i can lauch HDL without a disc.. that part works like a charm...

When i come into the gamelist in HDL nomatter what game i try to play i does not start...

i click play the screen goes black and hangs... hangs hangs and hangs... tried with over 30 games with all kinda comp. modes...

i tried HDL Patch with these options /n /c /b /f /l hoping that would solve the problem but NO!

i tried having a original PS1 game in my drive as i don't own a PS2 orig that also did not work..

i tried running a backup directly from cd and that works so the chip is ok i guess..

HOW do i get thsi shit to work??

any help would be very welcome..

It obviously has not launched correctly if it has lost the ability to start games.

Your problem seems similar (but not identical) to one that strikes all V9+ PS2s, if using the /S patch when booting with no disc in tray. That too would cause HDL itself to start fine, but fail to start any games.

However, you said above that you don't use /S, and you say below that you have tried with disc in tray, so this seems to be some new error...

I guess we all have some non-bought games, but I think it's a bit much to use 100% pirated games. Still, that should not affect your problem.

Correctly patched and using no-disc boot what discs you have shouldn't affect things. Unless the game you start demands a disc, in which case it's not HDL compatible. But that shouldn't be it as you tried many games.

I have no clue, as I never get that problem when I do exactly what you say you did, with exactly similar equipment. The most likely explanations are that either your description is wrong/incomplete, or your stuff is somehow broken... (could be a bad pre-patch HDL copy)

actually just fopund out some of my games start up showing the first screen and then freezes... so still no go.. dammit

Ok, so your first description of the problem was wrong. But still, you have managed to install 30 games without error indications during the installations, and now NONE of them work right, locking up either before displaying anything, or at the first screen displayed.

To me this definitely sounds like a bad HDLoader ELF.

dunno tried HDA too same prob.. could it be the chip? don't think it is but.. just have no idea why the ****er freezes it sux

Exactly the same setup.

v9 + Matrix infinity + Maxtor 250gb.

When I use my normal HDloader elf (48bit lba) from the infinity manager, everything works cool.

I uploaded the HDL DL and the same thing with you guys. I cannot have ANY game to load. The screen turns all black after I select to load a game.

So.. I think that we definitelly matrix users have a glitch with that ELF file. It is not that we have a bad elf, I think it is the combination of the ELF and the chip itself.

CrazyC and gang, please help the matrix users...

My V5 30004R PAL is chipped with Matrix Infinity 1.39 firmware and I can confirm nothing is wrong with HDL patch.Now running HDL and HDA with ZeroX patch 0.6.

ok well as u write yaself u have a version V5 i used to have another version that worked but with my V9 something is wrong for sure.. i'm glad to know i'm not the only one finally..

ok jsut tried hdlpatch0.6

and guess what it still does not work.. i've mailed the Infinity Team maybe they have a solution.. but i still hope someone inhere has the answer i need

Something is definitely wrong with your stuff, though it's impossible for me to say whether it's due to your ELFs or your hardware.

Like I said earlier, I too have a V9, Matrix Infinity with similar firmware (now 1.4 beta, previously 1.39), a Maxtor HDD, and I too am now using HDL patched with v0.6 of Zero-X's patcher. And here it all works great !!!
(It worked great with previous firmware and HDL patches as well.)
