Thanks so much for your help, sorry to waste everyone's time! I just didn't know that it would take so long for it to boot. I waited about 40 minutes and then when I checked it, it was working! It's been fine since then, playing every game that I've tried, and it seems to boot faster each time I start it.
Yeah, I had a hunch that this was it. People are so accustomed to getting quick results for most computer and console operations nowdays, that they're completely unprepared for the long delays that still occur for some tasks.

Once the list has been stored on HDD the boot delay should be more or less the same each time, though there can be slight variations. A major variation should occur only when you've installed a new game outside of HDLoader again (using WinHiip, HDL_Dump or other external installers), and then you must again expect the long 40+ minutes delay the next time you start HDL, as the list needs to be rebuilt again.
