HDL DUMP Help –
ok i've been reading up on HDL dump and basically im under the impression that i can send a DVD9 ISO file via HDL Dump to the HDD and it will work. is this correct or do i still need to flatten the layers when using HDL Dump?
The game im transfering is "Sakura Taisen Atsuki Chishio Ni"
Any info ?
You need to flatten the ISO.
and pray the game doesn't use LBA.
lol.. um.. wen it's on the hdd.. i don't think there is ANY toc or lba issues ^_^ (wen u send through the pc hdd to hdd of coruse)
Logical Block Address...the sectors on which a file is written
i have not had a problem with the sending iso images to the hdd via the pc for either cd or dvd so far. however when i was trying to send straight from the pc's cdrom to the ps2 hdd the games did not always boot.
Normally hdloader handles LBA properly.
However, a dual layer flattened will have the LBA incorrect, if the game uses it. so you'd need to lba-patch the game.
ok i have not really tried a dvd9 yet but is the patch the same one that is released by the ripping group (i.e. Kalisto). i was wondering if anyone got a kalisto game with the ntsc/pal selector to boot from the hdd. the game loads fine at first but after the splash screen goes away i get nothing.
