HDL + Big ISO... ? –
10-13-2009,07:25 PM
I posted this in another forum, but it wasn't answered because it was against one of the rules.
I have a 300GB HDD in my PS2 with HDL.
I also have a custom RB2 that exceeds the limit of DVD-R DL
Here's the problem:
I use IMGBurn to make the images, and WinHIIP to put it on my HDD.
I created a disk image in IMGBurn and put it on my HDD
When I tried to start up the game, it gave me a pink screen (it is the universal backup-loader color for not working or invalid disk)
Then I tried it with CD/DVD Rom Generator 2.00 and it gave me a BSOD instead.
Can someone help?

How did you get this custom game?
Download it?

I think this may be the most likely scenario. I'm part of the site he may be referring to and they frown upon downloaded stuff. They give you tutorials on how to customize your RB and GH titles, but they will not help if they're attained via questionable means.

If he doesn't post back, it will be plain to see exactly what his intentions where. And I'll find a proper fitting for his mistake... DJ

EDIT: I didn't download the game, you're not supposed to talk about HDLoader or any other kind of modding over there.
EDIT2: Here is my other topic over there http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=99134

As for your loader issues, I think I read somewhere in a compatibility list that RB2 is compatible if it's shrunk down to DVD5 or HDLoader will only read the first layer. There's some weird fix for it if you're going to load it via WinHiip.
The deal is that I've never tried with RB2. I've modded my GH, but I've yet to try it with RB. I might try RB2 later on and I'll show results there later.
Edit: If I recall correctly, there's been talk on a couple of the threads about HDLoader, but it's not the main focus of the discussion. Someone was just asking if it's able to handle ISO's bigger than 8GB (the answer is yes, using IMGBurn to make your ISO)
I don't see anything wrong with his question in this forum, but I can see why they'd give him a hard time there.

As far as I know if you exceed the limits of a DL disc, then you iwll have problems with this custom RB2
You will have to limit your disc size to the DL disc.boundaries for hdloader to work, if that makes sense.

Actually, there's been numerous people on that site who use HDLoader and say that they have customized their file lists to be upwards of 10 Gigs of data and works fine. I'm sure he'd have to do some .dtb and ark manipulation, but I'm sure it's doable. I've loaded my GH with almost 9 Gigs of data and it works fine.
