I'm having problems loading the hdd utility disc 1.10. All I get is a black screen. I have a 30006R ps2. I don't know the modchip because it was a gift. To get anything to work all I have to do is tap reset and for ps1 games and dvds I have to hold down the reset button. Any suggestions?

I don't know but maybe it won't boot if it detects the presence of a modship?

L1+L2+R1+R2 is config mode when you boot up system. Turn everything off except for autoatad patching!

Without a DMS3 chip with auto ATAD patching, it is not possible to use the disc, AFIAK. Also it only works on NTSC consoles.

I searched on google and it said the utility disk comes with Final Fantasy XI. Is there a way to get it without the Final Fantasy? Or could someone sell me it?

It comes with FFXI because FFXI comes with the HDD in North America. You can only get HDD Utility Disc seperately in Japan, and that's hard to do because it's out of print since PSBBN replaced it.
