HDD swap out.

So I'm looking at getting a modchip most likely the crystal chip pro 2.0

I know it will enable read/write functions to the stock HDD that sony hads out. but lets say in theory that I have a 500gb HDD sittign here beside me and I wanted to use it in my ps2. is there a way to utilise the new HDD with out usign a program like HDAvance that i have ot insert the disk everytime i wantot use it .. maybe there is a way to instal the 500gb hdd and format it wiht a disk so that its PS2 compatable then after that let the modchip use the read /write commands so Idont have to keep using a disk. kind of a "set it and forget it" type solution

if your getting a cc2 you can have a dev1 boot to get hd loader in your memory or dev2 boot to get hdloader booting from your hd

alright is there any special formating I'd have todo for the hard drive or is a standard out of the box hard drive well enough?

get ulaunch elf running and look for the potion that says hdd manager under the misc section and it will format it and thats it or use hdloader to format it
