HDD program to format from PC

Hi All,
Great forum you all got here. I ran a few searches but could not find an answer to the following question:

What program can I use to format a slave hard drive from my PC as a playstation format drive?

Also would I receive the error " HDD not detected' because my HDD if not in the proper format?

You can use many of the programs floating around here to format your drive. I think TheDeclines tool can do it, along with WinHIIP.

It will not be recognized by sony or games as an official drive, which means the atad.irx file for each game must be patched to see it. The only things that will see the hdd without any trouble are homebrew programs.

I have WINHIPP, never used it though.
