hdd problem

Im just wondering if this is a problem with my ps2. a month ago my i tried to install the ps2 hdd official firmware on my 160 gb maxtor, of course the ps2 didn't let me. so i turned it off and the next thing i know when i turn on my ps2 the hdd dosn't make that noise when you boot up, i tried hd loader and it still seems to work, but im still wondering it there a problem with my ps2 or not

Take off the N.A. and see if the connector connecting the N.A. to the PS2. If one of them is bent then you have to send it to sony.
