HDD maybe not working?

Hi. Im new here so be nice. I just FBMC'd my PS2 (v5) and installed a network adapter. From what Ive hears, HD Loader was meant to format the disk by itself. I pulled a 250gb out of one of my old computers, set it to master and installed it without formatting. HD Loader, Ulaunch elf and OPL dont see anything. I also dont hear the drive spin up. I currently dont have any usb/ide adaptors but I have ordered one for WinHIIP. CUrrently, is there anything I can do?

Do's UlaunchELF see it as connected in HDD manager
if so then try reformatting by R1 in menu format and say ok

Your HDD should be set/'jumpered' to 'Master'.
