hdd install

hi,
i have downloaded dev2, and correctly install the application as per your instructions given in the readme file enclosed with it. I have done all the things in readme file contains the instruction, but still i have one problem with it, when i press L1, os loader load but suddenly an error message which denotes, "NO HDD", "PLEASE RESET PS2", and afterwards i am not able to play, still the error comes every reset.

so kindly what's wrong with me, give me some worthful details to us for recovery of such problem.

Note: Dev1 is working fine and no such error messages while loading and playing.
i have cheked all my hardwares, cables and other devices that all are good and working.
i have matrox modchip v 1.54 in my sony ps2
pls send all necessary information, if any additional hardwars or firmware upgrades which are required to run dev2

Maybe you don't have a properly formatted PS2 HDD..the [__boot] might be missing..

Have you started HDLoader from memorycard or disc?

does it work?, does it find the HD?
(If HD loader detects the drive and it aint formated, it will ask if you would format it, creating the basic partition, including the "__boot" partition.

instructions below to burn the installation cd and
everything will work automatically. ;-)

This program enables you to install any PS2 executable on your HDD and
lauch it as the default DEV2 program.

To use it :

- Rename the ELF executable that you want to use as BOOT.ELF
- Burn a PS2 cd with all the files included in this archive and your
selected BOOT.ELF.
- Boot the cd and follow the on-screen instructions.


E.G. to use PS2OS directly from the HDD :

Rename the file PS2OS.ELF as BOOT.ELF and burn a cd with the following
files :

DUMMY.BIN
DUMMY2.BIN
SYSTEM.CNF
DEV2I.ELF
BOOT.ELF

After the installation is complete you can launch PS2OS directly from
your HDD by holding L1 just after reset (or select DEV2 as the default
boot mode in the config screen).

Just plugged the 80 GB on your PS2 and boot HDLoader, it will ask to format the drive, choose yes..and that's it..

or you can use WinHIIP to format the drive, just make sure you don't zero out the [__boot] partition so you can boot on DEV2..
