Hdd help

I have an old 10gb maxtor hdd.Formated with WinHIIP_V1.7.3. Connected it to ps2 but HDAdvance gives an error:
"HDAdvance could not find HDD hardware,ensure it is connected to the ps2"

i checked the connections.everything is fine.and i can hear the sound of the hdd.its working.but hdadvance cant detect it.

have you set the hdd as master?
