  1. #1 HDD Games in Black and white? Do I need a modchip?

Hi Just installed a HDD in my unmodded PS2 along with HD Advance copied a couple fo original games with no problem so feeling brave added the HDD to my PC, installed Winhiip and copied over a selection of images some work fine and some play in black and white is this because some are PAL and some are NTSC? And would adding a modchip to my PS2 fix this and if so what do you reccommend?

Thanks for taking the time to read this thread

Yes, it is because they are PAL (if you are in NTSC land). No, a modchip won't fix it. I think there is some kind of color mod you can do to get it to work, but i'm not sure. Just look for NTSC versions of those PAL games if available, or if your TV has a PAL setting, you might be able to use that as well.

It could be the other way around aswell (you have a PAL TV which isn't NTSC compatible).

If you are in europe and US games are playing in black and white, you just need to buy a proper RGB scart ps2 cable - or use a ps1 one.
