HDD Defragment –
Does any body knows where can I find a tool which can defrag the PS2 HDD?
but i always use hdl_dump. i heard about that if i change to use WinHIIP, it will crash my HDD!
is it true?
WinHIIP has an option to reduce fragmentation when transferring games only, as far as I can remember. Plus, defragmenting your PS2 HDD won't give you any speed/loading time benefits whatsoever. Just stick with hdl_dump, although switching to WinHIIP shouldn't do any harm, but it's still not worth the hassle. Defragmenting is HEAVILY overrated imho.
switching to WinHIIP does cause harm if you use it right after hdl_dump. if you want to mess around with WinHIIP make sure you boot the hd with hdloader in your ps2 first, then use it.
I don't care speed and loading time benefit from defragment, but I loast lots of space after install/delete/install.....?
the space isn't gone. games are installed just like on regular pc hd. in pieces all over the hd. whatever freespace hdloader says, thats how much you have.
but the remain space is not correct. why?
By how much? Tell us your total hdd space and the space of the games that you had installed
HLD DUMP is not 48 bit supported..
So you lose any HDD space over 127 I think
