Ok I know HDA is a copy of HDL and I want to play games off a hard drive. But im a little confused HDA seems eaiser to use. So maybe someone can explain HDL a little better. How do I use HDL, where to download, whats all this patch stuff and with HDL can I just put the game on the HD through the ps2 or do i need a PC and anything else that might clear up the diffrances and why HDL seems more confusing

they are the same, just different background images and words. HDL is more compatible if you want to hack it (I think)

    just as he said.
hda is a complete ripoff of hdl the code is 100% the same it is no easier to use, the only diference is the menu and splash have been changed. Yes you can use hdl without a pc just not with backups unless you have a modchip. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Ohh and HdA 2.0 is just hdl with zero x and crazy c's 48bit lba patch possibly others.

Follow-up question to Freak's question ^. I know Zero-X released the 48bit lba patch for hdl, but is there a file that includes hdl with the patch already on it? The actual patching of the files seems complicated...

If you look in the HDLoader Skin thread that's stuck at the top of this forum, you'll find a bat file which patches HDLoader for you. Not complicated at all. It's at the first post and is called "BMP BATCHV4.00.rar". Download it, unrar it and then double-click the file called "BMPBATCHV4.00.bat".

I believe we can't tell you where to find the right HDLoader, but the size when it's packed is about 650kb. If you find it unpacked it's 2977792 bytes. That'll work too.
