hd takes 5 minutes to load
hd takes 5 minutes to load –

i recently hooked up my 500 gig ide seagate to my enclosure, and winhiip said the drive was around 1 terabyte, and wouldn't list the games
so i unplugged it, hooked it back up, and it said the drive was corrupted
i hooked the hd back to the ps2, took about 5 mins to load (usually does this when i load a new game), and listed the games just fine
so i hooked it back up to the enclosure, and winhiip read it just fine, just said the db file or whatever was corrupt and had to rebuilt it... fine... it listed the games
loaded up a few new games, hooked it back to the ps2, took 5 mins to load... reset the ps2, load it up... STILL takes 5 minutes to list all my games
has anyone come across this before or does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

zomg how many games do you have???
either you have too many games or your hard drive speed is slow, or both.

I had the same problem with my 400gb on older hdl http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/show...ghlight=breezy post #85. Every single time hdl started it would rebuild the hdl list, taking around 5-10 min 250 games. Someone had me hex edit hdl to get it to work which did but ever since I moved to a later hdl 0.8b I never had the problem again.

I kinda have the same problem on my 200Go Maxtor... worked perfectly, meaning the loading was only long when I added or remove games... but then, all of a sudden, it started to rebuild the game index evrytime :\
was on the exact same HDL0.7c before and after it arrived...same ps2(V3).. (I change for a V9 recently...same thing of course)
now I have 0.8b same thing :|

have you tried formatting your drive and loading the games back on?

Try putting the HDD in your PC and use the repair functions in winhiip
