HD as Memory card?

Any way I can get my non-sony HD to be recognized as a memory card when inserted into my PS2? (maybe formatting with the memory card file system?)

you can use ps2menu-k to save from MC -> HDD & HDD-> MC.. its kind of like temporary storage.. but games still have to read from the MC.
