HD Loader used with ps 1 disk?

My friend just recently brought this to my attention, he apparently has a v1 modded ps2 with a modchip, *im not sure of the chip* and he has a HD loader, but to get it working it needs a ps1 disk, hes using Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo but that game is pretty rare to find, i have final fantasy tactics that i'd like to use to load the HD Loader, but i have NO idea wut to search for to fix my dilemma. Can someone please point me in the right direction, i see all these threads with AR MAX but i have no idea what that means, so please any insight would be greatful.

I got it to work thru that site, but it doesnt auto load the hd loader software, it actually loads to my memory card and i have to physically click the hd loader, anyone know of a fix for that?

if you want it to boot straight to the hd loader screen you gotta rename HDLOADER.ELF TO BOOT.ELF, note: which ever file is the boot.elf file that will automatically launch. for me it is launch elf a great app

hmmmm im not sure...i think you can...be very careful...a couple of wrong moves and you could get rid of everything!

Its only 1 game, and im not that worried. but im mad cuz i can't get this damn thing to work 100% correctly.

What program are you using to get the PS2 using that layout. I got the PS2 CogSwap to work but I cant get the FTP setup. I'm having trouble with the installer for the Memory card browser thing you have in the pic.

Renaming the HDloader.elf to Boot.elf won't work in all systems. Like on my unmodded v.7. I use LaunchELF to boot HDloader now since PS2Menu-K won't read HDDs that have over 120 gig of data on it
