you might try letting winhiip take a look at it.. its pretty good at diagnosing problems and fixing them..
or boot up dms hdd tools, and delete the hdloader settings partition, then try booting up hdloader again and see if it will make it & see the games.
but make sure you let winhiiip take a look at it though..
how does it look at it...do i need to turn it on, cause im just used to copying games to it
I had that problem today. You need to set the jumper on your HDD to be the Master or else it won't read in your PS2.
I thought I lost all my files on my HDD til I realized I had to change the jumper on the HDD to work on the computer.
Well, If you set the jumpers to cable select, it should work without a problem.
if you put it in master and it dont detected it i think you have a problem with the font of your ps2. i have the same problem. prove to change you font o power and it will work
ps: sorry my english
Brianhxc, I disagree with using CS-strapping to cure problems.
If you strap the drive as CS, then it will work as a Master anyway, when connected as the only drive on a normal IDE bus. But when connected as slave on a normal IDE bus in a PC, with another HD as master, then the PS2 HD MUST be strapped as slave. If you still have it CS-strapped then, there will be a bus conflict.
So it is still necessary to change the strapping each time you move the drive, and the CS setting has no advantage over the Master setting, EXCEPT when used with non-standard IDE cables intended for CS-strapping of all drives. Like I said, this is NOT standard usage, so with normal cables there is never a reason to use CS strapping.
It is possible to move the PS2 between a PC IDE bus and your PS2 without having to restrap the drive each time, but only in two cases.
1: The PC does have the non-standard CS IDE cables and PS2 HDD is CS-strapped
2: The PC has an unused IDE bus to which you connect the PS2 HDD Master-strapped
For all other cases you'll have to restrap the PS2 HDD each time you move it.
Best regards: dlanor
Actualy I am using my hdd on cable select for ps2 and pc and its working perfectly. Anyway ho11ywood did it ever work in your ps2, some drives just wont work. If it did and what jeex said wouldn't work I would try copying the games off and reformating.
