It depends if you like blue or orange... I prefer blue, so I like HDL
You can copy a backup disc if you use a high TOC disc to refresh and then do a slide/flip-top swap to your backup prior to launching HDL (while in ps2-menuK, or whatever you use)
I guess i should say that Im talking about buying the actual discs.
To be honest, neither. Here's how they stack up:
HDAdvance 1.0 = HDLoader 1.0
HDAdvance 2.0 = HDLoader with *SOME* Zer0-X patches
There are newer patches not even available under the HDAdvance name, and having an original disc won't help you apply those since you need the ELF file for HDL to make them.
You're better off with just obtaining a .ELF for HDLoader, patching it, and using a memory card exploit to boot it (preferrably from HD itself).
Ok Zylyx
I have no clue about the PS2 scene since this is my first time playing around with modding one. Is there a detailed tut on this.
and what is the best way to go about using an HD without having a modchip
If you have an older ps2 (not the slimline) start here:
http://exploitstation.com/
read the tutorials, check the downloads (and ELF library)
you should be able to figure out how to run HDloader from there... no mod-chips required.
also, search google/this site for the "Independence Exploit" if you need more.
