HD Loader booting problem

I recently modded my ps2 with an hdd and loaded the free HD Loader program. it formatted my drive and I installed a game on it. before i installed the game it would load to the main screen. now all it does is lock up on the loading screen that you get when you put the cd in? what the hell happened? does anyone have problems with the free hd loader? is there a patch? i can't seem to find any threads with this info. please help.

i think this is due to the fact that it is a free/hacked version. i can load it maybe 1 out of 5 times, its so aggravating. does anyone have this problem with the real/retail version? please let me know if its also this buggy.

get yourself an UNPACKED HDLOADER
then get a patcher like HDL Patch GUI Release 9

you have all the options whether

No disc seek while loading [Fixes Splash Sreen Hangup]
Stop CDVD Drive Motor After Loading
and many more....

how do i apply this patch? i tried just double clicking on it. then i tried through command line and still no luck. how do i patch it? either through command line or some other way. thanks

do you have a version 9 console? if so youll need to do things differently.

when i unpack hd loader, i get a file which is the biggest one , named slus.203.44 or something, i try to patch it and it says that the file isnt hd loader, which file is hd loader? or how else do you unpack it? i just opened the iso file and extracted the contents. please help. thanx
