HD Loader –
Well we got the following problem. My brother and I need to share the HDloader boot disk but that is getting verry anoying right now. What I want to do is to use a .elf file to launch HDloader from the hardisk or memory card. I know how to install .elf files and how to launch them so the only thing I need is an elf file to launch HDloader. Is that possible?
Use LaunchELF (its in the latest news section), and put it on your memory card as BOOT.ELF and boot it by any means you can ie exploit or your modchips DEV1 mode.
Place the HD Loader elf file (SLUS_202.02 on the original disk - rename it) somewhere on your HD and then assign it to one of the buttons in LaunchELF.
I found the .elf file and whas trying to get that thing on my HD via FlashFXP. But strangly enough FlashFXP puts it into a que which doesn't start, even when I try to resume it or someting it just doesn't transfer it into my hard disk! Not in a folder nore on the disk, I can't even make a folder on the hard disk. How can I fix that?
If this going to work it will be the last thing I want, so don't worry
you have to mount the _boot partition using the "SITE" command on flashfxp
FLASH FXP and EXECFTPS crashcourse below!
look at the log in the lower right.. post if there are any errors..
to start the transfers, you press COntrol+Z.
you much have a aprtition mounted. to see which partitions you have, goto /hdd
to mount a partition, press CTRL+R and type SITE MNT /pfs/0/ hdd:[partition]
eg, for the __boot partition SITE MNT /pfs/0/ hdd:__boot
you can then browse to /pfs/0 and transfer over the files using the explorer pane on the left
Oke I got the following problem. I can't see what to mount. If I launch FlashFXP and open the hdd and then 0 (/hdd/0/) it doesn't show me any files, folders or partitions (500 Unable to open directory (next line) list error). So I used DMS TOOLS to see the partitions and to creat one called TOOLS. Now I should be able to mount the partion with SITE MNT /pfs/0/ hdd:__TOOLS or SITE MNT /pfs/0/ hdd:+TOOLS (becuase that whas the case at my last succesful try with my brothers ps2). Whatever I try I can't get it mounted! Any idea's?

Oke I found a solution. The porblem is that you can't run the FTP server from the HD and then try to see files/partitions on it. You need to put the FTP on your memorycard to make it work.

Right now i just use a dvd version of hdloader to boot,
If i have a modchip (duo2 se to be exact)
When i put the boot.elf on my memory card and what not, don't i still need a ps1 disc or something in the drive?
I can't simply boot to hdloader from the memory card, without using some sort of Disc in the drive to be read, can i?
This right. Sony has protected the playstation 2 verry well but not that good. You need a ps1 disk to boot from a memorycard. If you are clever you get a old demo disk of the ps1, I did it and it cost me nothing only the cost of a magazine (3,0 euro's/dollars). I still have some laying around here if you want but ps1 games cost nothing compared to ps2 games. Just look good
