HD damaged, (particle collision?)
HD damaged, (particle collision?) –
I took my hard drive to a friends house, and he being computer illiterate manged to 'damage' it. Now when i put the hard drive in my ps2 hd advance gives an error message saying the hardware isnt detected. ive got 22 of my games on there and i really dont want to lose them. Do you people know anyway of getting the drive to work, when i connected it to my ps2 winhiip told me there was a 'particle collision'. if you guys have any ideas out there i would be very grateful.
From the WinHIIP ErrorFAQ:
This means that one image has sub partitions allocated to it that are also listed as belonging to
another image. One or both images are corrupt.
You should at least hear the hard drive spin up. If not, your friend probably messed with the network adapter when the unit was on, popping a motherboard fuse that controls its power. See if the hard drive is detectable in a PC.
Thinking about it now, the drive doesnt sound the same as it did when it worked perfectly. I clearly remember it loading or spinning up and the various noises. They no longer happen. When i loaded the drive onto my computer, the first time winhiip recognised the drive and i tried to install an image as it thought winhiip corrects things when its installing new images. However the image failed and from then on it wouldnt recognise the drive. Any ideas, should i try to use a different network adaptor, or format, if so have i lost all my games?
