    I have a 200GB Maxtor DiamondMax +10 (model no. 6B200P0) in my PS2.

It works great and fits perfectly in the PS2 HD bay.

As for power saving mode, the mode activates on my HD after about 20 minutes of inactivity but when data is requested from the HD again and the HD powers up again it resumes fine (tested with numerous games including GTA San Andreas).

Just avoid Western Digital HDs because they don't fit onto the Network Adaptor.
