Hard Drive Problems!!!

I have a Maxtor 120gb HD a week ago. Then I play 2 days great, playing we7i and lotr3 of it. Then while I was playing, my baby sister bangs on the PS2

Then I off it and try again, I try LOTR3, and it laods, but it just comes up loading?. And freezes. Then I take it back to the shop saying it don?t work, they try it on XP works fine. So they give it back to me, and same problem. Then I take it into the shop, yea and I show them how I installed it. Pro Evo 3, loads fine, but freezes at team selection. Then the guy says, I?ll take your PS2 and see whats wrong. It is not the cd of my games, as I tried a 8gb Seagate HD and it worked 100% So do you know my problem, why does it freeze?

scratched platter?

try extracting your game images from the hdd. then do a full format on the drive, see if it gives you any errors. then re-install the games & see if they work.

Yeah, the shop did a full format and then installed XP and it worked great, im not very familiar with parts inside a HD so please help.

platter = discs inside hdd that store data.

are you sure they did a full format? or did they do quick format? big difference.

you may also want to go to the maxtor website to check out their disk diagnostic utilities and run them on your drive
