Ok, guys, I just got the Official Sony Hard Drive...

And I know the _ is capable of this, yet I do not have a _, so, maybe someone can enlighten on how the _ does it...

Yet, how would I transfer games to the Sony's 40Gig(More than My Computer, God Damn!) Hard Drive....Cause if I can't, that is a waste of a hard drive...

    Any Help is Appreciated

Ok, I may be posting this too hastily, yet after fooling around with the hard drive....Sony's Hard drive does something, I get the red screen every single time I want to play copied games, even copied movies. Even If I put in an original, with the mod chip, still the red screen...

I have to put the mod chip in sleep mode to resolve this or remove the hard drive, all together to play copied games...

    Does anyone know of this?

    I am running a V4 with a Magic 3.1

    Any Help is Appreciated

Yes, you do Have to put the Chip in the "sleep" mode before running any type of media. The hard drive will scan the PS2 for a mod chip or copied games. You will get the ROD if you do not do this.

Update: (For those that Care )

I tried a copied PSX game, entitlted Hard Lake with the Hard Drive in...and it booted up fine...

The only difference that I can see, is that it was patched, like you see the crew's insiginia instead of the PSX logo when you first start up the game....

    To transfer saves:

You will see the HDD in memory card manager (Browser).

Highlight the HDD and press X.

Now you will see whats IN the HDD (FFXI, Playonline, etc.)

Press LEFT and the little HDD icon in the upper LEFT will be highlighted.

Now press TRIANGLE (Options) and you can "Create Folder".

Now go back and you can go into a memory card and either MOVE the file to the newly created folder, or COPY it over.

I bought the HDD for this feature too. I have 4 full memory cards... well.. I HAD 4 full memory cards.

Stinks though. Some save files that are protected (I had DOA and Breath of Fire) CANNOT be moved/copied and are stuck on the MC FOREVER!!!

    Nice feature though..

Yea, I know about this, this wasn't even my problem....

Not to mention you can not load saved games from the hard drive, you still have to transfer it back to a memory card...

I don't see why you guys say it is bad idea to remove the hard drive, cause it clearly states 'watch who you lend or borrow your hard drive to, cause they can have access to your account.'

Not to mention the ease of taking it out, press two tabs and it comes out...
