Guys need your help regarding IDE.

Guys, kindly enlighten me pls.
I found a working IDE Maxtor 80 gig in my cabinet,.
Also i have an IDE ENCLOSURE.
and im thinking if i can use it FOR playing games on ps2.
Will it work? If yes, what specific applications should i use for it to work properly..
Ill kindly wait for your opinions because im a noob regarding my ps2.
MY PS2 unit is SCPH 10000.

do you have network adapter or do you planning to use it as a usb external drive .?

im planning to use it as a external because here in our country it is so hard to find network adapter.

is your PS2 Modded or or softmoded .means can it play backups ?

You may need FMCB, if you don't have a modchip to run homebrew.

You may need FAT32 Format to format your usb hd to FAT32.

You could use OPL to run the games from your usb hd.

You could use ImgBurn to create ISO files from your game disks to put on your usb hdd

tnx for the reply guys.
i already modded my ps2 and played back ups by using esr.
but i want to prolong the life of my laser so id ask if external ide with enclosure would work.
