Any help will be greatly appreciated here. I just installed "The Guy Game" to my PS2 hard drive using the "flattening" technique. I'm pretty sure I followed the guide by nemesis completely and still could not get it to work using HD Loader. Has any one else gotten "The Guy Game" to work? Please post me back.

Are you sure that it is a DVD9? Because it's listed in the compatibility list working and with 3GB disc usage...

It's definitly not a DVD9 and it work perfectly on my V9 without any Mode change.

The original game is DVD-9. Paradox's release has re-encoded the movies to fit onto a DVD-5. It's in their nfo.

i don't have this game or the other tutorial, but i know how to do these things and will give you a quick, easy checklist for 'flattening' dvd-9 discs.

    1. make iso with dvddecrypter
    2. extract files from both layers into same directory with apache
    3. create new compilation in cd/dvdgen (with files in the same order as original)
    4. save iml/ims files
    5. either:
    a. install with hdl_dump using iml file
    b. create iso with gnie's dvd-iml2iso and install with either hdl_dump or winhiip

    done

as a final note, if a game isn't working (booting or whatever) try to enable some of the compatability modes from within hdloader.

    good luck!

    off topic:
btw, wizard, i was recently installing my copy of defjam FFNY and it failed (sorry, don't remember the error number.. altho i think it was 53. does that make sense?). i was using an iml to install it cuz you can cut about 2gb from the game to put onto your hdd. anyway, i'm just glad i know about the partition structure enough to manually fix my drive since hdl_dump left it in a messed up state. this isn't a critisism, just feedback. i'll continue to use v1.6 as i haven't had a problem yet. btw, the problem occured with v1.7.3

Sorry then, my mistake. I was pretty sure to have read somewhere it wasn't on DVD9 but thanks for clearing things up DaBrass.

Yeah, I could get the first layer to install just fine and it played without any modes enabled. But I can't get the rebuilt iso after flattening it to work at all. I have been using Winhiip to dump the new image. If Hdl_dump can do it without creating a new iso, maybe I'll try it.

I am one who has the game installed via hdl, using original disc, not paradox, and it does work fine. To test it, i dl'd the question faq to get all the way through it, and did indeed get through it. all the vids worked and all. dont know how, but it did. Wasted 40 bucks on it too. Dont buy it. just go rent a titty movie. helluva lot easier to watch.

Oh, I agree. It wasn't worth it for all of the titty shots, but get a bunch of guys (or in my case, 2 guys and 2 girls), and it makes a great drinking video game. I don't know why everyone was bashing the game unless they were only playing it by themselves or for the boobs alone. I thought it was a great party game.

Back to the point, though. Maybe I'm puting the IMS and IML in the wrong place. The faq that I read mentioned a root dir. on the iso itself. What is that? When I rip the disk, I get no dir. on it.

I haven't had a chance to test this game or Madden Collectors Edition, but from what I've been told they seem to work. Just throwing Madden out there because a lot of people have been asking me about it.
