    Gameplay over graphics, guys.
    Gameplay over graphics.

You're a total n00b if you think otherwise

Think about Counter-Strike... Metal Gear Solid... Super Mario Bros...

frames per second are an integral part of gameplay, not graphics

The open-eneded gameplay in San Andreas rules! I spent 2 hours last night just drivning around to areas of the map I hadn't visited - not 2 hours of gameplay, 2 hours of just DRIVING! and I had a blast. There is NO other game/series that I could make a claim like that about.

anyone who has played true crime: streets of LA will tell you that the grand theft auto engine is shit. The game is amazing, but true crime has twice better graphics, double draw distance, and runs at an amazinf fps nonstop, and is just as big as san andreas.

I didn't notice any drops in framerate from the HDD install but it does tend to make the movies run choppy. The faster load times more than make up for that though and the game is still plenty fun. And True Crime is cool but nowhere near as good as GTA. I think you've been huffing paint.

Here we go comparing other games with GTA..
Look peaple you should all give respect to what Rockstar has done.. Does True Crime have a map this big?.. No and that goes for any other game that has or will come out for the PS2.. The graphics are no where as bad as GTA 3.. I agree thou that they are very comparable to Vice city.. But that doesnt matter sents the map is 4 times bigger then Vice City..
As for DVD compard to HDD.. Its pretty much the same exept for the loadin time.. I mean try changing outfits with DVD version.. Then try with the HDD version.. Theres at least 2 sec. differance there.. Just to bad the movies are out of sink just a bit thou!..
Ooo well you win some-you lose some..

    Later,
    Scooter

I love the Gta series. And SA is a big improvement on a lot of levels:

The map size is amazing, although kind of annoying when asked to go to los santos for a single mission sometimes.
The graphics are really nice actually. Take a look around you when you get to Las Venturous on the downtown area... Notice that you have about 50 pedestrians walking around, buildings all around, and vehicles and planes to boot.
This brings me to my next point. have you noticed taht there are NO loading times???
I don't care if the Fps sometimes reaches a minimum of 15-20 if I'm blowing up 6 cars while shooting cops and helicopters above me are dropping marines with uzis on me.
The point is I flew from los santos all the way to the other corner of the map and didn't see a single loading time... Of course I then did a loop de loop and bailed out of the plane and parachuted down, just stunning......

I love Rockstar's newest addition, this has more gameplay and design to it then MGs3 will ever have... Plus, to the person who said MGs3 will save the playstation2, have you played the demo? The graphics are nice, but while I was playing when I set off their alarm the fps dropped to about 5.

THANK YOU ROCKSTAR!!!!!!!!!!!! .. just don't make another midnight club.. ugh..... or state of emergency.... those were mistakes.

Don't get me wrong.I haven't played MSG3 yet but because I'm a big fan of the game and have played MSG2 like a million times and read A LOT of reviews for MSG3, I wrote what you've read.
I love GTA series too.I was really mad when I first saw and played Driv3r which is clearly a clone of GTA.
The game has many many many features. You mentioned some and there are a lot more.Earlier this evening I was just fooling around in the game you know stealing different types of vehicles, running over people, e.c.t. and had so much fun...
I have to admit that graphics don't matter after some hours of playing the game...
When I said that MSG3 will save the PS2 gamers I only meant GFXwise (if there is a word like that,I don't know I'm from Greece ).
