GT4 loading times (HDD)

Hi guys,

just curious that GT4 is not as fast as I expected it to be. E.g.: the First loading screen (GT Mode black screen, white clock) lasts about 5-6 secs here (160 GB samsung drive) with HDAdvance 1.0. Just wanted to know if this is OK. How are your loading times (DVD/HDD) ?

Yes, the loading times are almost like the DVD for me. But hey, i didn't expect very much, just wanted the game to work, and there we have it!

i think you guys are on crack, its loading at least 2-3 times faster for me.

-plain hdadvance (no patches)
-maxtor 80gb 5400rpm drive

Eh, I don't notice a big difference in the loading times. I'm just happy that I don't have to swap disks b/w my PS1 Trigger Disk and GT4.

yea its too bad LAN mode got broken.. but its so nice loading off the hd.

Yup, significantly faster for me as well. It's most obvious when entering races and switching during series races (virtually no loading at all). The menus are also much, much faster and easier to navigate. The only time I've felt it's still slow is when it's bringing up the prize car...

I can't really recall that first loading screen though. I'd check but I'm finally almost done with that damn 24 hours of Nurburgring.

Loading times are a little better for me... but the main reason I put the games on the HD is because my friends always manage to scratch the discs.

Loading times seem a little faster, but you really notice it when you are selecting different tracks and it loads the preview - stuff like that is faster.

yea no shit, i'd say 2-3 seconds usually..

Its definitely faster but its not massively different. If you watch the orange "loading" light, you'll see it pauses for moments. I think its because of the unpacking of the GT4.vol file.
