some of you may remember helping me when my hdd bit the dust but i am here to say if any of you have problems with seagate drives that are lees than2 years old just send it back they sent me a new one free of charge when i broke it in the first place... Major props to seagate.... never heard of maxtor doing that... nuff said

All of the drives I own are maxtor drives...never had one die in less than 2 years.

I've had my fair share of Maxtor drives die. I just had an 80Gb die that has it's warranty expire in December. I just do an RMA and they send me a new one. I send them the dead one back. All it costs me is shipping.

3 year warranty for maxtor.

my harrdrive no idea what brand, its 40gb, its lasted over 4years.
i never defrag my shiet, also, i used to have a lot of spyware and shiet,

also it says i should do a disk cleanup before windows starts, but i cancel everytime, everytime i boot at startup it says, cannot boot disk, error or something, but it still works after restarting once.

also im missing some dlls for windows haha, i cant ebelieve my comp works

this is not relevant but i love my hdd.

-has 40gb hdd for PC
-never defrags
-used to have a lot of spyware
-is obviously running low on disk space, because the disk clean up always comes up
-says it cannot boot disk

no man, i use windows xp
i dont know why dlls is gone they just are lol,
i cant even run in safemode cause it says im missing all these dlls or some shiet,
also i have a lot of space left, like 8gbs, i dont do much on this comp, only to dwl shiet and chat,

at least my harddrive hasnt crashed haha

im not sure if its disk cleanup, but its like some sort of check for the C: like ntfs some crap cause there might be errors and they advise me to do the check. it takes way too long so i dont bother.

dude, you seriously need to backup all your mp3's, pics, software, etc.. format that hdd and do a clean install of xp..

my WD crashed cuz i shorted the wires by accident not knowing that they were touching the metal chassi of my pc... it was deaddddd as a door nail and the i called up and went online to the WD site... did the RMA... i aint have to pay a dime...they paid for shipping and eveythign... perfect .... was a sweet dealllllll .... i love it.. brand new HD

and if u dont return the broken HD.... WD only chares u a fraction of the cost for the new HD.... another words... if u clam u have a messed up HD and do the RMA and they send you the new HD... dont return the "old" one (it still works) and then u only pay half retail cost for a NEW HD.. trust me , it works... i did it for a friend

yah i was going to backup my shiet and format a couple of months ago, i had an external hdd and shiet to back up everything, was going to format but than my cdrom drive both drives couldnt read the xp disc, and i had to deelte the shiet on the external one, so im to lazy to copy it again and shiet. takes forever.
