Full noob tutorial? –
Just wondering if there was a full noob tutorial out there for getting a hdd, setting it up, loading elf's (not where to get them), installing games etc, like one full tutorial?
If there is, stop me now.
If not, I'd like to make one, web based, with the help of other people who who enjoy it.
I would like to make a whole tutorial for noobs, starting from what hdd to chose, what programs to use, what games work and don't work, how to load elf's (not where to get them), installing games in the many different ways, patching games, customizing everything, and going from there.
I've just been looking around and haven't found one similar yet. I know starting out with a hdd wasn't too easy before, and having to run around between 20 sites and forums doesn't help much.
Anyhow like I said, if there is one, feel free to link it and stop me, but if there isnt one, email me if you'd like to help make one I have local hosting available and I work for a web development firm so that part is easy . Email is firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested, or you can post a reply.
Well most of this info is in various FAQ's but if you created and gathered your info, I think this would be a welcome tutorial. I don't speak for everyone but I'd certainly like to see it as it could prevent many questions that don't need to be asked if all of this info was in one thing like you want to make. Anyone else got thoughts on this?
I'm also starting to think of just taking it the whole 10 yeards, past the hdd.
Just have a PS2 tutorial site with every tutorial we can come up with, especially stuff I seem to see a lot of asking about like how to adjust the pots and the such, just go wild and hope that people read the manuals. Hopefully we could get it to the point where the main posts on the boards is with people reporting new games rather then having problems with old ones.
I'm having a hard time putting this into words but I think seeing as it hasn't already been done, it would be a great resource and would help alot of people.
Well, I've started work on the general site now. Going to bust out a layout template and make my slices, meanwhile I'll get linux set up on my server box and a domain addy and no-ip redirection. 800kb/s up should do unless the site get's really popular. Will post with updates.
Still looking for people that would like to help with the site, tutorials, or anything. If anyone is interested, my inbox is always open
